Last week, the Computing in Engineering (IIB) team was represented at the Bau Exposition 2023 in Munich by Patrick Herbers and Sven Zentgraf, supported by Ruby the robotic dog. Together with the RKW Competence Centre, Ruby presented the " Auf IT Gebaut 2023" (Built on IT 2023) award to aspiring researchers. 

We are also very proud that VSK Software GmbH, a spin-off from our department, was awarded a special prize in the start-up category. Congratulations to Marcel Stepien and André Vonthroné for this special recognition.

Last week, the IIB team was represented by Patrick Herbers and Sven Zentgraf accompanied by robot dog Ruby at Bau 2023 in Munich. Bau 2023 offered a comprehensive insight into the innovations and new technologies of the construction industry.

Between April 17 and 22, the first BAU - World's Leading Trade Fair for Architecture, Materials, Systems took place again after a break of more than four years. The fair reported excellent results; around 190,000 visitors and 2,260 exhibitors from 49 countries were present. Bau is now celebrating its exhibitor record and successful comeback.

At the in the context of Bau also took place award ceremony of "On IT Built 2023" prize. The prize is awarded to up-and-coming researchers in the competitive fields of civil engineering, construction management, architecture, and crafts and technology, and recognizes special IT solutions for the construction industry. Ruby had a special task at the award ceremony. Together with representatives of the RKW Competence Center, she presented the "Built on IT 2023" award.

We are particularly pleased about the special prize in the start-up category. This year, it went to the IIB spin-off VSK Software GmbH.
