On Tuesday, 13.05.2025, Alessandro Bruttini successfully defended his dissertation entitled “A semantic Digital Twin for Occupant-Centric Workplace Management” at the Università degli Studi di Firenze.
The defense took place at the Dipartimento di Architettura (DIDA) in Florence and was attended by several colleagues from the chair as well as Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus König supervising the doctoral thesis. In addition to the Italian doctorate, he also fulfilled all the requirements for the Dr.-Ing. degree with the doctoral examination as part of a cooperation agreement between the two universities. Alessandro spent a total of 21 months as a doctoral student at our department, during which he not only established himself as a valued research assistant but also as a friend to many team members. The PhD represents the successful completion of an intensive research journey, in which central questions on the semantic modeling of work environments in the context of digital twins were addressed with the aim of making the user-centered management of workplaces dynamic and innovative.
We congratulate Alessandro on his doctorate and look forward to many more joint projects and inspiring discussions.
