On Monday, July 21, 2025, Xuling Ye successfully defended her dissertation entitled “Blockchain-based smart contract realization in BIM environment—Technical adoption for reliable and collaborative construction management”.

In her dissertation, Xuling explores innovative approaches to enhance reliability and collaboration in construction management, particularly in areas such as delivery, claim management, and progress monitoring, by integrating blockchain-based smart contracts into Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Common Data Environments (CDE).

The dissertation was supervised by Prof. Markus König and Prof. Jack Cheng from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Prof. Johanna Waimann served as chair of the defense committee.
