As part of the BIM GOV research project, we conducted a survey to examine the current state of digitalization in building supervisory authorities, with a particular focus on the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in building permit procedures. Over 300 participants from building supervisory authorities across Germany took part in the survey.
Our goal is to identify various levels of BIM integration nationwide and to transfer the experiences gained into practical applications. One of the key results of the project will be the creation of a “BIM Maturity Map.” This map provides an overview of the current state of BIM implementation in building supervisory authorities and shows how far the integration of BIM into the approval processes has progressed. Additionally, we aim to gather the assessments of the affected actors regarding the feasibility of future BIM implementations.
Currently, the evaluation of the survey results and the derivation of concrete recommendations for action are being prepared. The publication of the results is planned for the autumn. Further information will follow here.
