Construction sites are dynamic and complex environments that use various types of equipment. Similarly, a construction site involves manual activities, such as checking the status of machines or locating equipment on the site. Site management is interested in obtaining this information to optimize the site's processes and maintain the schedule. However, because the process is manual, it is naturally time-consuming and therefore not efficient. Site managers or workers have to walk between the construction containers and working zones to obtain this information, which is typically recorded on paper or on a tablet. Therefore, it is worthwhile to automate the determination of the positions and statuses of the construction site equipment to view this information centrally. Simultaneously, this information can be compared with the schedule to detect any delays at an early stage. To accomplish this, a combination of IoT sensor analysis and camera-based tracking is used. AI-based methods are used to extract information from the raw data to make informed decisions.
